What is My Needs Network?
My Needs Network identifies and publishes needs from individuals within our community. In this way, members can not only contribute solutions where they can, but also follow along and stay connected over time, so that things get better.
Can members post information about their own needs?
Yes! That's the beauty. Members have the opportunity to help out where they can and get help where they need it.
Can I operate my own needs network?
Yes! You can set up your own needs network and piggy back on ours.
Why would I want my own network?
It's a great way to get your needs met and help others where your talents and time allow. Plus, it's a great way to quickly communicate community needs to others, so that things get better.
How do I develop my own network?
It's easy. Simply invite your friends to join you or use the keyword search feature to find existing members you may already know. Once they are following you as friends, they are automatically in both your prayer circle and needs network!
Can I post need statements for other people?
Yes! When you make a post, it gets shared with all your friends and published on the many different platforms of Living Bulletin.
If I post on behalf of someone else, are there any precautions I need to take?
Yes. We recommend that you make the post without mentioning any names, just circumstances. Make it clear you are making an effort to help someone else.
After posting a need statement, what do I need to do to alert the people in my network so they can start pitch in?
Nothing! All your friends will receive an alert automatically.
How do the people in my network receive an alert about the need statement?
A. Alerts appear for members when they log in.
B. Alerts appear automatically in their Christian Messenger App. (under development)
c. Any unread alerts appear in their Living Bulletin email.
D. In the "paid" version under development, you can send an immediate email, as well.
Can members of my network interact with the need statement?
Can the person for whom I post a need statement follow along with and interact with people who respond to them?
Yes! If you want them to, you can send that person a direct link to the need statement so they can follow along and interact.
Can I ask people to post their own need statements directly?
Yes! If they are your friend, you will be alerted so you can easily share it with other members in your network.
Can I invite people to join my needs network?
What happens when another member of my network posts a need statement?
You will receive an alert about the request. Simply comment on it, react to it, or follow it and everyone in your network will receive an alert and have the opportunity to help out.
How do I add people to my needs network?
To add someone to your needs network, simply become friends with them. It's that easy!
If someone wishes to leave the my needs network, how do they do it?
All they need to do is stop following you.
Must the needs network be listed under my name?
No! You can use another name for it. (like: St. Mark's Needs Network, for example) Communications will be directed to an email of your choice when you set up the account. The email address used must be unique.
If someone posted an inapprpriate comment, can I remove it?
Yes! The author of each need statement always has the option to edit their post or remove unwanted comments.
Do members of my network get any other advantages?
YES! LOTS OF THEM! Each member will receive their OWN i Mission Field and all the benefits of membership on the Living Bulletin. So, they can network, find solutions, do good works, stay informed, uplift spirits and more!
